Characteristics |
Hearing Loss: Average IQ- difficulty speaking, reading, and writing the English language- may seem slower in learning, but just need more time to process- emotional difficulties- isolation from peers- articulation- voice quality- tone discrimination- 3-4 years below grade level
Vision Loss: Little understanding of spatial concepts- language develops at a slower rate(due to visual stimuli)- still verbal- headaches- ithcy eyes- rubbing eyes- not understanding social cues- social isolation- poor hand eye coordination- effects cognition, socialization and personality- difficulty with math concepts-dizziness- headaches- double vision |
